Virtual Sound Card

Is it possible to create a virtual sound card and use that for a certain application?

I stream and i want to be able to send some of the application sound to the streaming application but not all.

Have looked some in the docs but cant really find anything like that but if it exist then please point me in that direction.

Doesn't matter if hear it or not

Within Alsa, Pulseaudio, JACK or something else? There should be a possibility for all of those. Pulseaudio should fulfill that on its own. For jack I remember some applications like netjack. For alsa, maybe using file pipes and maybe other software. I concentrated on the streaming aspect, defining virtual devices with alsa for other purposes should be also possible.
