fresh install Xorg7

on a fresh ftp install of 0.7.1 I installed xorg7 and the -13 nvidia drivers. X starts and is working, only thing is the colors are really messed up, i can't find a way to fix this.
also i installed Eterm and gaim but can't start them. this is the output i get:

[vladuz@box ~]$ gaim
gaim: error while loading shared libraries: libXss.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
[vladuz@box ~]$
vladuz@box ~]$ Eterm
Eterm: error while loading shared libraries: libttf.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
[vladuz@box ~]$

Re: fresh install Xorg7

also i noticed that everytime i start xfce4 it takes forever and it seems as if it's doing some kind of configuration each time. everytime i kill X and start it again with xfce4 all my configurations are gone. colors are messed up. changing Depth and Modes in xorg.conf has no effect.
what could be going on?

Re: fresh install Xorg7

vladuz:  seems like your paths in xorg.conf nay not be set up correctly. Make sure your fontspaths all start with /usr/share/fonts instead of /usr/X11R6/lib/fonts, your rgbpath is /usr/share/X11/rgb, and your modulepath is /usr/lib/xorg/modules

thanks, but the xorg.conf file was created with

Xorg -configure

so it already had the correct paths in it.
The problem was that i made a mistake entering the refresh rates for my monitor so X would start but the picture would look really bad.
It works now.
