Can't play Quicktime HD Trailer

Hi,

I'm using firefox + mplayer plugin and I can play most of the trailers at www.apple.com/trailers.

I didn't find a solution to watch "quicktime HD trailer". Can someone try to watch one of these ------> http://www.apple.com/trailers/wb/supermanreturns/hd/ ?

Heya,

I never tried it, but I think you need to install the h.264-codec for which there is an opensource implementation. There is a package for it called x264.

Thanks for your suggestion.

A friend of mine succeded in watching the HD trailer using KAffeine + Gstreamer + gst-plugins-faad + gst-ffmpeg.

I've tried the same software combo, but I get only a black screen.

After installing the x264 package, I can watch the trailer with VLC, but I get no audio at all.

My friend has a Nvdia card, I've got an ATI card (using xorg 7.0).

h.264 isn't very well support in Linux yet, sadly.
