Unable to use comman useradd

Well, here's the first of several problems I have to bother you with:

I try to use the useradd command to add a user as such:

useradd -m -G wheel -s /bin/bash myusernamewenthere

But I got:

useradd: cannot lock /etc/passwd; try again later.

There are no .lock files anywhere.

My hard drive is an SSD, with two partitions:
/dev/sda1 << an efi boot partition
/dev/sda2 << this is my /

Thank you for your time.

Re: Unable to use comman useradd

Are you running that command as root?

Re: Unable to use comman useradd

This is a fresh install.

Root is my only account.
