How to create a disk image?

Hi,
  I 'd like to create an image file that others could dd it to a usb stick to boot the computer.
  I know I could create a file and mkfs on it. But how to partition and install MBR?

Not a Sysadmin issue, moving to NC...

Sorry, I did not mean to use archlinux.iso. Because I need to assemble something of my own.

If you want to base it on e.g. Debian, this is the wrong forum to ask.
Feel free to tinker with LFS, BLFS etc.
