hey everyone,
so i was just connecting to my internet today and saw that my laptop wasnt picking up wifi signals, everything was fine the other day
so i checked the wiki again on how to set up wireless networks and saw that it was soft AND hard blocked, so i unblocked the softblock and now the wiki says to flip a hardware switch to unblock the hardblock? i dont really know what that means, do i have to open up my laptop lol? my laptop is a Dell 15r. it's just weird because it was fine before, did i do something that caused my laptop to hardblock wifi?

There's not much to go on here - what is the output of rfkill?
There are two types of hard blocks: one is actually a hardware switch - usually a sliding toggle on the side of a laptop; the other is a firmware switch which usually has a function key compination e.g. Fn + F5 on my current laptop, sometimes Fn + F2, or other combinations - the F# switch should have a wifi symbol on it.

lol omg i swear im so stupid.
my switch is just fn + f2, i mustve accidently pressed that sometime yesterday. i just clicked it again and now the hardblock is gone. it got soft blocked again but i just did the command and its good now. again im just sorry for wasting your time ![]()

No problem - all solutions seem obvious ... once you know them ![]()
