OSS claiming my device has no functionality (possibly incompatible?)

For some reason, I decided to install OSS even though I had ALSA working. In doing this, I found that it does not seem to like my sound device (realtek HD audio on-board, since that's important), though there are no steps for fixing anything like this on the wiki, along with no steps for making ALSA work again anywhere (since alsa has stopped working now).

Running osstest returns that I don't have any audio devices available.

Running ossmix on each of the three listed devices (osscore, HD audio, and USB) returns that each of them have no functionality.

What I am looking to do is either fix OSS or ALSA; either one is fine, really. As I said, I couldn't find any instructions for fixing either with this problem, and my job entails audio, so help would be appreciated greatly.

Nevermind, I got impatient and tinkered. Fixed ALSA accidentally. While I would love the possibility of finding out how to make OSS functional, in case I ever have a reason to switch while still using this computer, I really have no reason to have this thread anymore. Would appreciate if a moderator were to lock this thread to prevent necrobumping or such, as I do not seem to be able to delete/lock my own threads (and if I am, I don't really care).

*shrug*  I don't see much threat of this being bumped - but I'm happy to oblige.
