I'm in need of a static lib for glibmm-2.4, I noticed arch has some libs included as static and dynamic in /usr/lib, though not for many libs.
Is there a reason why some are included in the packages as static (and dynamic) and some only there as dynamic libs?
I read somewhere it should be possible to convert a dynamic lib to a static one, though I didn't succeed to accomplish it yet. Anybody has any experience with this?
