Touchpad recognized but not loaded by X.org

My touchpad completely stopped working. I tried almost every single post on this forum, but none of them was able to solve my issue.
Apparently it's a Elantech

Actually, my touchpad is listed in /proc/bug/input/devices:

When I see dmesg log (dmesg | grep i8042, I find always the following:

[ 0.661351] i8042: PNP: PS/2 Controller [PNP030b:PS2K,PNP0f13:PS2M] at 0x60,0x64 irq 1,12

[ 11.257184] input: AT Translated Set 2 keyboard as /devices/platform/i8042/serio0/input/input9

which is similar to this thread, specifically the 'good boot' section.

It gets attached correctly (I guess) is sysfs:

ls /sys/devices/platform/i8042/serio*
(KEYBOARD) /sys/devices/platform/i8042/serio0:
bind_mode description driver drvctl err_count extra firmware_id force_release id input modalias power scroll set softraw softrepeat subsystem uevent

(TOUCHPAD) /sys/devices/platform/i8042/serio1:
bind_mode description drvctl id modalias power rate reg_10 reg_20 reg_22 reg_24 reg_26 resolution subsystem
debug driver firmware_id input paritycheck protocol reg_07 reg_11 reg_21 reg_23 reg_25 resetafter resync_time uevent

I also tried i8042.nomux=1 and i8042.reset parameters, but no results.
The package elantech-psmouse is also installed.

Somenone has any ideia of how to fix it? What is happening here?

Thanks in advance

Re: Touchpad recognized but not loaded by X.org

Actually, I was able to solve *some* issues. Still not working though.

I removed every conf file from /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d (except 00-keyboard.conf). It is now listed as a device from xinput --list.

Re: Touchpad recognized but not loaded by X.org

If is listed and is an Elantech, you can try installing psmouse-elantech from AUR.

Re: Touchpad recognized but not loaded by X.org

I also had touchpad issues this past week after an upgrade.  Only had left click responded but no cursor movement or right click.

I checked /var/log/Xorg.0.log and saw that the device was detected but no drivers.  Have you tried:

# pacman -S xf86-input-synaptics

That took care of my issue...
