X problem

Hello,

I had a perfectly working Arch distribution in my HP laptop.  It ran like a champ for a year, until it crash on the last update.  I try to repair it without success, so I said what the hell ill do  a clean install.  Well this is where the problems started, I downloaded the 0.7.1 iso.  After I installed with out any errors I update the system doing a pacman -Syu.  Then I proceeded to install xfce (pacman -S xfce4 xfce4-goodies).  It installed everything without errors.  But when I type startxfce4  it gives me a error(xinit not found).
I try to run startx but the command does not exist.  I install Hwd and did a hwd -xa, it responded with no errors, but X is still not working.  The first time I install Arch in the same laptop i just did a  pacman -S xfce4 xfce4-goodies, follow by startxfce4 and it work just fine.

Please Help!!!
