I've configured my ncmpcpp to show music visualization, but when i go to the visualization section pressing "9" the playback stops.

Did you set an audio output in mpds configuration for the visualization? Did you check mpds and ncmpcpps [error] logs?

IIRC only ncmpcpp- git is built with visualisation support. Tho i could be wrong,

So the visualization is there, also otherwise it would not depend on fftw.
