Problem with Libreoffice

Hello, whenever I open libreoffice all the GUI text is blocky. Meaning there is no text only big blocks that resemble lego pieces. There's no error log reading in the terminal when I open it either. I'm running blackbox with it, but even before when I had LXDE it had the same problem. Can anyone help?

-Thanks

Re: Problem with Libreoffice

Welcome to Arch! Text issues like this are sometimes the fault of the render protocol. If your video driver uses EXA, try putting

Option "ExaNoComposite" "true"

in an xorg.conf or xorg.conf.d "Device" section. There is probably some equivalent if it uses glamor.

Great things come in tar.xz packages.

Re: Problem with Libreoffice

The only file I have in my xorg.conf.d folder is something called 50-synaptics.conf. Should I put it in there? Thanks for the quick reply :-)

Re: Problem with Libreoffice

I had a similar problem running Libreoffice in openbox (only blocks, no letters) and it was the result of not having necessary fonts installed.  Installing the packages mentioned in this post worked for me.

No. If you need to do this then you should create a new file in the directory with the necessary section and options. Read the Xorg wiki page, in particular the section about using conf files.

Caveat: I don't know if adding that option is the solution. I'm only indicating how to do it.
