[SOLVED] linux-git package too slow to clone git repo

Hi. I'm wondering why "git clone --depth 1" is not used for such packages with huge repository history? It could improve download speed a lot. Or maybe I'm missing something important here?

Yeah, forgot about this google feature. Only searched forum.
But still it's not clear why linux-git package doesn't use prepare() method suggested by Allan McRae.
