HTML 5 Netflix on Chromium

I was wondering if it's possible to use the HTML 5 DRM from Chrome on Chromium similar to how we can use Pepper Flash.  I tried copying the two widevine.so files I saw in my Chrome directory over to my Chromium directory but, unlike in Chrome, Chromium didn't recognize the Widevine plugin in about://plugins.  The reason I'm asking is I just solved an annoying bug with the menu colors and got it merged upstream but I'm not sure when the patch will make it to a Chrome build.  Of course with Chromium, I can just apply the patch myself to the Chromium ABS so I would like to get rid of Chrome and just use Chromium for everything (including Netflix) if possible.

Re: HTML 5 Netflix on Chromium

Hi, You can try on chromium changing your string to Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.3; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/38.0.2114.2 Safari/537.36, If it does not work I don't think chromium has the DRM plugins you want (and I am unsure if you can get them)

If you can use google chrome chances are you can follow http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2014/08/netf … rt-plugins for the most part
