[SOLVED] linux-grsec fails to boot even after nopcid

Hey All,

Everything works fine if I don't have linux-grsec installed, but as
soon as I install it, the system won't boot.

I'm doing a new install with btrfs on my root partition and refind as
the efi boot manager.  I recently did a very similar installation on my
laptop with no issues, the primary difference being the hardware and
that I was using ext4 as the root.

The error I get is:

Unable to find root device 'UUID=<snipped>'.

When I boot into a live environment, I see the disk with the proper UUID.

I've tried tweaking the boot parameters in refind according to the suggestion
in this wiki (nopcid and pax_nouderef):

https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Pax

But I still get the issue.

I'm running an i5 2500k whereas my laptop is running an i7 4500U.

Any clues?

Aaand, I'm an idiot.  I was editing the kernel parameter on the vmlinuz-linux kernel and not the vmlinuz-linux-grsec kernel.
