Hello,
I've installed Arch on a Lenovo Ideapad Y410P, but am unable to get xorg to work properly with my nvidia card, and it appears to be an issue with nouveaufb. The Y410P has two graphics cards, one integrated intel and one nvidia card (GeForce 755M -- in the NVE7 family).
First of all, after logging in i get:
nouveau E[ DRM] Pointer to TMDS table invalid
nouveau E[ DRM] Pointer to flat panel table invalid
Trying to startx loads the nouvea driver just fine, but then
(EE) No devices detected
After looking into it, I checked if KMS was the issue. If I do a cat /proc/fb
0 inteldrmfb
is the only entry. nouveaufb is missing. I tried to manually set the kernel parameters to force nouvea.modeset=1, and also tried to i1915.modeset=0 to see if that was somehow interfering. At this point I'm out of ideas. Anybody have a better idea of what's going on?
I should mention I've also tried the nvidia driver, but this also didn't work. I briefly tried nvidia-beta but I'm not sure I configured things properly with it.
Thanks
