A few weeks ago my laptop overheated and shut down and ever since then dmenu has refused to run giving me a "no locale support" message. Dzen runs but gives the following warning " dzen: locale not available, expect problems with fonts" True to it's word, dzen doesn't display the powerline fonts that I use for my status bar (Previously it worked just fine). I
've reinstalled dzen (I use the xft-xpm-xinerama-git version) but no luck. I have tried regenerating the locales several times, the only line uncommented in /etc/locale.gen is en_Us.UTF-8 UTF-8. The only line in my locale.conf is LANG=en_US.UTF-8.
locale outputs:
LANG=en_US.UTF-8
LC_CTYPE="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_NUMERIC="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_TIME="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_COLLATE="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_MONETARY="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_MESSAGES="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_PAPER="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_NAME="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_ADDRESS="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_TELEPHONE="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_MEASUREMENT="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_IDENTIFICATION="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_ALL=en_US.UTF-8
locale -a outputs:
