Anyone else noticed with today's Firefox update (1.5.0.1-2 -> 1.5.0.1-3) that the fonts have gone tiny within Firefox ??

Reenabling Pango could have something to do with it. :?
(Why was Pango enabled again? I thought XFT was an order magnitude faster...)

VERY tiny!!! and much slower... In CVS it seems that they went back to pango due to some unicode compatibility stuff
Mortuus in anima, curam gero cutis

In prefs I changed fonts setting to system & they seem better now

Where is this "system" setting? I don't see that, in the Firefox preferences.

didn't work for me... still very small fonts
for example http://hacking.pl/
And it seems that firefox works now slower.

I was about to say "Yeah, fine for me too, arooaroo", but I just checked hacking.pl, and it is tiny alright. No other site that I've been to since upgrading has been affected, though.
So I'm now saying "Yeah, strange, arooaroo". :?

I've not noticed small fonts with latest firefox on any site at all, except for when I click on that link.

Well I feel like a complete moron there. Anyway, that seemed to do the trick, except for the hacking.pl site. But all others are looking good.

Yargh... Fonts look fine for me in Epiphany, but performance is bloody terrible!
Edit: Jesus, fonts on Wikipedia look positively eldritch. Forget this shit, I'm going back to KDE.

put this in your profile or bashrc:
export MOZ_DISABLE_PANGO=1
export MOZ_ENABLE_PANGO=0
this should disable pango and fallback to Xft for rendering.
For the tiny fonts: make sure your xorg dpi settings are correct. Most ati and nvidia users suffer from this problem.
When disabling pango, there's no way to get it back. When enabling it, you can at least disable it if you want to.

Thanks!
Now to wait for Metacity to become usable...

Disabling pango helped, better performance again.
