Macbook Pro 6.2 EFI & Nvidia problem

Hi

I got rid of the nouveau drivers to install nvidia drivers but whenever I boot into KDE I get a black screen and can't even switch TTY - only fix is hard reboot.

Did a bit of searching and found a line on https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ma … 2.2B_-_EFI

Macbook 6.2+ - EFI
As of 4/30/2011, the proprietary nvidia driver is not known to work under X with this model in efi mode. The nouveau driver should work out of the box, but dri should be installed from the mesa-git package.

Am I stuck with nouveau 2d drivers...?

Apparently all EFI users are stuck using nouveau https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/NVIDIA

Re: Macbook Pro 6.2 EFI & Nvidia problem

I wanted to revive this, because I have the same model MacBook Pro (6,2), and I'm having the same issue. I'd like to use the NVIDIA drivers, but I'm getting a black screen when I use the NVIDIA (instead of nouveau) driver.

I've been on that page many times, but do not see anything related to EFI.

I'm especially confused because the "NVIDIA Note" on the Macbook wiki page led me to believe that someone out there is successfully using the NVIDIA driver.

I'd love if anyone had experience getting the NVIDIA driver to work on the MacBook Pro 6,2.
