Hello folks, i want to buy a dvb-t usb device to watch tv on my pc. I had one in past and was difficult to make it works. So i am searching a devise ready working. I have seen this guide http://www.linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/DVB-T_USB_Devices but almost all that devices are not more aviable on markets probably because they are old. Someone have one that works without problems, or someone knows what device is totally supported with linux kernel? thank you!

What do you have and the rtl2832u is a popular reduced to 2MHz bandwidth SDR!

do you know if the kernel 3.16.1 supports rtl2832u chipsets?

It should, if you don't blacklist it, it will load several modules related to it. But if you install rtl-sdr, it will run the sdr (and not the device nodes /dev/dvb/*). You may need the dvb related packages to use it.

You just need the proper dvb applications and check for the device files in /dev/dvb. You might have a better handle on it in the arch wiki on DVB-T as it applies to Arch.
