I still have a 32 bit machine, and I would like to use Viber or Whatsapp or both. Is it possible in any way?
I discovered that pidgin has a Whatsapp plugin, but I don't know how to get a username and password for it.

First search result from "viber 32 bit linux": http://linoxide.com/opensource/install-viber-linux/

By signing up for it.
Also, viber is in the AUR.

Tomk, viber in the AUR is 64-bit only. It is not compiled as it is closed-source; it is just extracted from an rpm (or was it a deb). Viber upstream does not provide a 32-bit linux version, hence this thread. But a quick google search provides the link above on how to use the windows 32-bit version in wine.

Ah... thanks, guess I should have paid more attention.

Thx, I installed the windows version, but it says I should have a cellphone to use it and I don't have a cellphone, this is why I would like to use it on my PC.

Sidenote: whatsapp is insanely insecure, it is strongly recomended not to use it.

Use an Android emulator as your cellphone, the wine-installed-version of Viber will be your desctop viber

Viber uses a phone number as an id, you need it either way!

Whatsapp login is done by entering your phone number and receiving an sms with a key. This key could be entered manually in the past, but that does not really work now anymore.

The readme on github references some ways to register an account. Maybe some of them still work

That's pure gold! "How do I find out my password?" - "Just sniff it!"
