an alternative to the offical Arch Linux monthly release

This is just a set script to generate live image for installation/rescue, it based on the Arch Linux monthly release.

There are some notable differences between Arch Linux monthly release:

  • Add some useful AUR packages, for example:

    • zfs-git: for installing Arch in zpool

    • debootstrap: for installing Debian in an Arch-like way

  • xfce4 as a lightweight/high-reusability desktop. (use xfwm4-titleless-dev in place of the stock xfwm4)

  • Add some useful packages:

    • firefox as a mainstream web browser.

    • gparted for partitioning the disk.

    • fbterm for CJK character support on tty.

    • vim-minimal as a editor.

    • v86d for uvesafb support

    • and some other packages, like w3m, tor, tmux, reptyr and aircrack-ng, etc...

  • Put BG and some other useful documentation on the live image.

  • There is only one root-image reside on the ISO image, it means that the live image is not dual-arch.

  • Numlock will toggle on automatically at startup.
