[arch64] call for a website maintainer

This has been posted to the arch-ports mailing list where we should talk about it. The post should be soon in the mailing list archive too:

http://www.archlinux.org/mailman/listinfo/arch-ports

Our www.arch64.org website needs a whole rewrite. It should be fit into
the www.archlinux.org (32bit) and www.archlinuxppc.org outfit. More
features we want too.

I've asked our server admin c14n and he told me that we can use almost
every program we want for the website. So Joomla, mysql and much more
shouldn't be a problem.

So feel free to introduce yourself if you're interested.

A running Arch64 system is not an absolute must.

I'd totally do it, but my time is too limited ever since I'm on an internship.

I also tend to have a limited interest span, so I don't think I'd be a very reliable maintainer. But if you can't find anyone else, I'll give it a try. I need to learn PHP anyway. Unless I can use JSP/Servlets. wink

I could have a go. I'm upgrading to a 64 bit system next month so you better have something nice ready for me Andy!! tongue

PM me or of I've got it in my profile (not sure) send me an email with what you have planned exactly and I'll tell you if I have enough time to do it or not, should be a yes though.

well, idealy once they get the new server wouldn't that become the new home for arch64? so then couldn't we just use the main arch site? like they would need to modify the web interface so that it also shows archs. but other than that i think it would work perfectly.

Actually yeah, didn't Judd hint not long ago that Arch64 might become an official port soon in which case the main Arch page would be it's home also? Something you'd need to speak to him about I'd imagine.
