Hi,
I installed arch (x86_64) on my MacBook Pro 5,5 in EFI mode and use the official nvidia driver. (for my nvidia 9400M)
My System boots up normally. I see text on the terminal.
After I issued "startx", the Nvidia Logo flashes and Xfce4 starts. (everything is working so far)
But if I switch back to the Terminal (Strg+Alt+F1) or quit X the screen turns black.
If I switch back to X (or start it up again), I see something again on the display.
Is there anything I could do, to prevent that from happening?
I depend on the nvidia driver, so switching to nouveau is not really an option for me.
Thanks in advance.

I think it's a longstanding bug of the nvidia driver. I have the same issue, with the same macbook pro model, while using arch or debian.
