[Solved]Cannot boot install medium into live environment

I followed the instructions for UEFI, and after using the hashtool (and following these instructions for Secure Boot, got to this point:

Arch Linux archiso x86_64 UEFI USB
UEFI Shell x86_64 v1
UEFI Shell x86_64 v2
EFI Default Loader

However, when I select Arch Linux archiso x86_64 UEFI USB, it simply restarts the computer and returns me to the above menu.  Does anyone know what mistake on my part this behavior indicates?

This is not the blank screen problem mentioned elsewhere (example).

The installation medium is the latest archiso (2014.09.03) written to a USB  with dd (following the standard method suggested by the wiki).

The computer is an Acer Aspire E5-571-37SY
CPU: i3-4030u
BIOS: InsydeH2O
Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 4400

In the BIOS under Boot:

Boot Mode: [UEFI]
Secure Boot: [Enabled]

Let me know if there is any other information needed.

Re: [Solved]Cannot boot install medium into live environment

When I disable Secure Boot, the computer does not even acknowledge the USB and proceeds to launch Windows.  When I reenable it, I regain the ability to boot from the USB, but also return to the problem outlined above.  I even attempted to manually select the USB via F12.  Nothing.

Edit: by "Nothing" I mean the USB is ignored and Windows boots.  Sorry that wasn't very clear.

Re: [Solved]Cannot boot install medium into live environment

You won't be able to boot into Arch with Secure Boot enabled. You'll need to look at other UEFI settings to have the USB recognized.

On my UEFI machine, when I first installed Arch on it, I had to boot in compatability mode and not use the USB3 port. YMMV.

I was wrong: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/UEFI#Secure_Boot

Re: [Solved]Cannot boot install medium into live environment

I have made progress, of sorts.  I was indeed using a USB3.0 port, and switching this did indeed enable to computer to boot from the USB.  Unfortunately, even with Secure Boot disabled, the initial behavior persists.

Ah, it works now.  In an act of desperation, I simply rewrote the iso to the usb.  It now works fine.  Sorry for being a bother.
