Pacman and SSH through PuTTY

I'm using PuTTY from a windows box to work on my arch machine, and recently I've found an irritating problem.

When I try to "pacman -Syu" from putty, it dumps putty at the start of each download status line... and therefore makes it hard to press Y. I have to use the no prompt option.

Here's what it looks like:

[root@elements ~]# pacman -Syu
:: Synchronizing package databases...
 current                  [/home/ftp/archlinux/current/os/i] 100%    LOCAL
PuTTY extra                    [/home/ftp/archlinux/extra/os/i68] 100%    LOCAL
PuTTY[root@elements ~]# PuTTYPuTTY

Sigh... anyone? This is really frustrating. Pacman seems to be the only program with the issue.

Check your settings - the "Terminal" category in the tree on the left.

See the "Answerback to ^E" box?  Try clearing that out.
