(Solved) super-wingpanel-bzr

i hate to rehash this but i am going to as i really, really want to get this working. in another post i said i was content with it not working. though i have sorta been obsessing about getting super-wingpanel working. i have been trying to a really long time to figure it out but i am just simply unable to get it working. if you would be so kind................ i am unable to get the super wingpanel from the aur. i have no idea what is going on but i get this message:

[john@DarkSpiritAK47 ~]$ yaourt -S super-wingpanel-bzr

==> Downloading super-wingpanel-bzr PKGBUILD from AUR...

You should add dependency "libwnck3", otherwise build fails

Thanks Ksj, update the PGKBUILD.

Re: (Solved) super-wingpanel-bzr

The comment by cuvora hints that the file CMakeLists.txt  in the sourcecode needs to be patched to compile succesfully.

It looks like in that file gee-1.0 needs to be replaced by gee-0.8 .

I suggest you check https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Patch and create a suitable patchfile.

Normally patches are applied in the prepare() function of a PKGBUILD,  but that function isn't present in the PKGBUILD so you'll have to adjust it.

Chances are you'll have to use trial & error to get a working PKGBUILD, better use makepkg for that.

Disclaimer :
I have never used yaourt or super-wingpanel-bzr, just looked at the comments and the PKGBUILD.

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

clean chroot building not flexible enough ?

Re: (Solved) super-wingpanel-bzr

i got it...................... unfortunately i know that it is installed now but still just super wingpanel fails to show up. Hopefully they update the super wingpanel and it works better for me? IDK... also hopefully someone can make it possible to get it from the AUR eventually without adding that overly complicated patch thingy. Anyway thankx so much again! I could not have done it without you.
