[SOLVED] Asus Fn-keys don't recognize

I have a notebook Asus N76V. Sometimes ago my Fn-keys worked perfectly, but now keys for backlight changing (Fn+F5 and Fn+F6) are broken. Acpi_listen and xev don't recognize this keys. I tried to use such kernel command-line options like

acpi_osi=Linux acpi_backlight=legacy

and

acpi_osi=Linux acpi_backlight=vendor

but nothing changed. Other Fn-keys work correctly. Changing backlight also works by another keyboard shortcuts.
I'll be grateful for any ideas how make it works by Fn-keys.

@ deemytch
You may try to add acpi_osi=Linux to the kernel line.
For my Asus G75XV I still not found a solution. If I put acpi_osi= then the keys are seen, but no brightness control avail by KDE.

I haven't any errors on boot with asus-nb-wmi module and backlight functionality is working, but not by fn-keys. Downgrade to kernel 3.8 is not good idea for me because of nvidia dependencies.

Re: [SOLVED] Asus Fn-keys don't recognize

Any combinations of acpi_osi=Linux acpi_backlight=legacy, vendor, without acpi_backlight paramether etc, did not worked for me.
Will check later more harder recipes.

Re: [SOLVED] Asus Fn-keys don't recognize

My Asus G75VX (sorry for the above typo) still have no clues. It's more than 2 years now sad
If I put acpi_osi=[empty] the Fn+F5 Fn+F6 are seen by the system, but nothing can be changed and the brightness remains to the maximum.

@Kobibr
Similar to that bug, but no the same results.

Re: [SOLVED] Asus Fn-keys don't recognize

I've got the same problem since Kernel 3.16, I already filed a bug:

https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=82451

/edit:
for the record, mine is a HP Compaq 6510b with Intel GMA X3100

Re: [SOLVED] Asus Fn-keys don't recognize

I'd add that xbacklight is working, when no parameters are set on the kernel cmdline. Maybe is a problem with KDE.
Temporary I should assign some other key for that function.
