I am using a laptop PC with intel915 chipset and PCIE ATI X700 video card. I installed the ati-drivers-arch. And load the module of fglrx, but When I use xine to play video file, it is very slow.
Then I try to run glxgears, it is only 250 fps.
Why?
Here is my xorg.conf

Have you made the following symlink:
ln -s /usr/lib/xorg/modules /usr/X11R6/lib/modules
?

I have just read about the topic "testing: ATI drivers for xorg7 - packages renamed." Every thing is OK now. Thank you.
It is my first time use ATI video card. ATI driver in linux is terrible I think ( comper with NVIDIA ).

Not to get on your case tx-cary, but just because you didn't install the ati drivers properly - it's ATI's fault???
I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts...

But do you think NVIDIA driver is more easyer to install then NVIDIA? And NVIDIA driver works more well then AIT's? And ATI X1000 serial still have no driver in linux now.
By the way, my xmame-sdl still work very slow. Any advice? Thanks a lot.
