Hi there,
I'm using Canon, i-SENSYS, MF4780w as my printer.
Being in Printers-KDE Control Module, I selected the add printer option! After finding my own printer to add, I selected it. After that, trying to add the printer's driver, I recognized not only MF4700 series doesn't exist, but no MF series in the Canon section!
My gutenprint package is up to date, so why doesn't it exist?!
What should I do now?!
I need my printer, please help!
Thanks in advance!

The I-Sensys MF4780w appears to use the "UFRII/UFRII LT Printer Driver for Linux v2.80" .
There are 2 packages for this driver in AUR : cndrvcups-lb & cndrvcups-lb-bin
If you can't get either of them to work (happened to several people) , try checking which PCL version the printer supports and setup it as a generic PCLx printer.
Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

Trying to get the cndrvcups-lb, using:
packer -S cndrvcups-lbI got this:
Dependency `lib32-libxml2' of `cndrvcups-lb' does not exist. What do you mean by:

Thanks in advance...

lib32-libxml2 is in [multilib] repo, you probably haven't enabled it in /etc/pacman.conf .

Usually manufacturer printer drivers give you access to all capabilities a printer has.
If there are problems with that driver, an alternative is to fall back to the de-facto PCL standard to connect with the printer.
Using a generic PCL driver means you will miss some of the functionality the printer has (how much depends on the printer), but atleast the printer will work.

Sorry for asking that, but could you please tell me how can I use the PCL driver?! I mean where can I find it? ![]()
Thanks.

not sure with which package it comes, but here's how to select it :
in browser, goto http://localhost:631
select add printer, and fill in the screens until you get to the one where you can select a make .
Make : generic
Driver : generic PCL laser printer (en)
