Cannot get desired resolution after graphic card change

I am using a dual monitor configuration ( both are 1920x1080 displays and were working fine with my previous MSI 560Ti, which had 2 DVI-I dual link ports ).

I upgraded to a MSI 770GTX, which has 1 dvi-i dual link  and one dvi-d dual link ( and 1 hdmi port ). If I connect both monitor on DVI ports, the secondary (on dvi-d port) is not automatically powered on when entering X.
I can force powering it with nvidia-settings, but max resolution is 800x600 and can't go more. My issue is solved using HDMI and DVI-I ports, but I need to know why the DVI-D port does not work the expected way.

Re: Cannot get desired resolution after graphic card change

Run 'xrandr --props' on the dvi-d port and decode edid. Is there an adapter in between? Rule out cable and monitor, by swapping with dvi-i port. So there is no xorg.conf[.d/*.conf]?

Re: Cannot get desired resolution after graphic card change

cables revert doesnt' change anything the most strange fact, if a only plug one monitor ( any one ), when plugged in the DVI-I port, grub's menu résolution is 1920x1080, but if I plug it on DVI-D, grub's resolution is default ( a very low one ). How could be that ?

When logged in system, with only one monitor plugged on any DVI, résolution is always fine.
