KDE's audio test plays; other things using PA don't (Mangler, HL2/TF2)

I have Mangler set to use the default PulseAudio device for both input and output. When I hit the hotkey in Mangler, others can hear me just fine (was told via Steam chat) but for some reason I can't hear them. I was playing TF2 earlier, and sound was working, but now it's not. When I go to Audio and Video Settings in KDE, the device I want to use - my Behringer Xenyx302 USB mixer, labeled as "PCM2902 Audio Codec Digital Stereo (IEC958)" - has been put to the top of all lists in Device Preference, and when I click Test, the audio works there... Any suggestions?

EDIT: I restarted and things are working again. I don't know if I solved the problem or not, though, or how it might have been solved if it was. So I'll just leave this here in case it comes back in the next couple days.
