Just curious. When will gnome 3.14 be here?
When it's ready.

Not helpful.
Was wandering when the gnome 3.14 was going to be released as stable from the gnome devs?

Gnome has a public roadmap for all their releases.

Works fine in gnome unstable. Some apps are even 3.14 by now.

I think I made a terrible mistake:
I installed gnome-software from the gnome-unstable repo, then it told me there were some updates to be installed, so I clicked on the restart and install button...
Now the system does not boot, I can't even log in to a shell...
It stays on the screen displaying:
systemd-fsck[205]: /dev/sda6: clean <more stuff about the files and blocks, and check in 4 mounts>
What can I do?
EDIT:
here's where I am stuck

Can you get a login prompt when the computer has started by clicking ctrl-alt-fN where N is a number? If so you should be able to fix it from there, access systemd logs etc. Probably you just need to let pacman update again.

No, the only key combination that I've found working is Ctrl+Alt+Del to reboot...

Just an observation/query about extensions. I know the usual practice on a Gnome update is to bump the extension's shell version number and it usually works again, but upon poking around in dconf, could this key not remove that issue (excepting of course the fact that some extensions will need updating to work):
org.gnome.shell.disable-extension-version-validation
According to dconf, this key should tell gnome-shell to try loading all extensions regardless of supported shell version number.
Cheers.

Did you add the unstable repo to the bottom of your list, rather than first? Because that will absolutely boink your system.
A way to fix it is to put in the install disk, mount your install to /mnt, arch-chroot into your install, and then correct your sources and run a pacman -Syu
I don't really know what I'm doing.

You can get your system bootable again with this:
https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 8#p1459368
Gnome-software lets your system boot in some kind of single user mode where it updates packages. That target is not enabled by default on archlinux, resulting in a system that boots to a disabled target.

Thanks for your suggestions, but my gnome-unstable repo is already on the top of the list.
However, I followed your instructions and updated the system, but nothing changed...

Is anyone else seeing Evince printing white pages instead of the contents? I'm not seeing it on every pdf, but at least one from Springerlink. The same pdf prints fine with Evince 3.12 and in epdfview. . .

I don't have a printer. The problem I have with evince 3.13.x is that it closes down whenever I update the pdf externally (for instance rebuilding it with LaTeX...)

You don't need a printer, you can use cups-pdf or the preview button.
I think I don't have the problem with evince being closed with LaTeX, though I did have it for a while.

The preview button works for me... it happens with all PDF you have tried?
