Hello!
I have something i would like to have clarifications on:
Yesterday i tried running cs:go on Arch. Pretty cool thing they finally did port the game!!
The thing is, i learned today you can use the primusrun command in the "set launching options". (https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/St … e.2FPrimus)
Yesterday though i launched steam using the primusrun command ($ primusrun steam). Doing so, would steam start being rendered on the nvidia graphic card but its games will be launched using the intel graphics?
Or would it launch everything using primus considering i used it to launch the client?
If you are wondering, yes i am a little lost.
(Bonus point : how do i know a program uses the nvidia card and not the intel one?)
(Bonus point two : how do i check the nvidia card status ("status" aka power on or power off)?)
Thanks guys!!

I am quite shure that you would only run Steam with your Nvidia card - the game you want to play would still be using your integrated graphics card. So start Steam without primusrun and just change the launch options. "primusrun %command%" should be enough!

Thanks!
That's whay i was believing too but that way i still managed to get some good fps on CS:GO which is pretty cool.
That means the drivers are really well functionning, even better than i've expected!

voidrunner is wrong. When you start steam using primusrun, all it's programs will also be started using primusrun. But it's still better to start steam without primusrun and run it's games using primusrun %command%. ![]()

Ok thanks!
I have not managed to try it out yet but if it is the case i am affraid cs:go will forever be unplayable ![]()
