I update Arch almosty daily (64 bit installation) and few days back I got this error on pacman -Syu. Now I get this error everytime I update:
(1/5) upgrading bash [##################################################################] 100%
warning: directory permissions differ on /usr/share/man/
filesystem: 775 package: 755
warning: directory permissions differ on /usr/share/man/man1/
filesystem: 775 package: 755
(2/5) upgrading curl [##################################################################] 100%
warning: directory permissions differ on /usr/share/man/
filesystem: 775 package: 755
warning: directory permissions differ on /usr/share/man/man1/
filesystem: 775 package: 755Offline
You're not getting an error.
If you want to stop getting the warning, fix the permissions on those two directories.

But the question is did you change the permissions yourself?
