Hi, I'm looking for ways to stream audio and video from my tablet to one of my arch pcs in my home network.
The tablet is running android and I'd like to be able to search for and start the playback of youtube vids, missed tv shows from cbs.com and so on and so forth on my tablet but have them play in fullscreen on the monitor connected to an arch pc.
My first intent was to use my tablet to remote control my computer, but on my pc flash crashes all the time, tv shows complain about my adblocker, it just wasn't any fun. All of that works better on my tablet, so I figured streaming it from the tablet to my computer is the way to go then.
Online I find mostly articles about streaming from pc to tablet (and most of these articles are rather about sharing files from pc to tablet then actually streaming).
I'm still pretty much at the beginning of that journey, I still don't know what protocol would be the best for me (e.g. miracast or dlna) or what server suits that purpose (rygel seems to support a lot, but is it any good?).
Or am I thinking way to complicated and there is an easier/better solution to my problem?
I was hoping someone here has already some experience with this and could help me out a little.
