I followed the Arch Wiki for installing VMPlayer (https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/VM … stallation) however as soon as I go to install the VMware-Player-6.0.3-1895310.x86_64.bundle, the installation will abort due to a core dump in the installation. Have not found any way around this, so any ideas?

Same on VMware-Workstation-Full-10.0.0-1295980.x86_64 - it's bug in GTK (GLib ≥ 2.41) - https://git.gnome.org/browse/gtk+/commi … 5bc292f606
Temporary solution is to to downgrade glib2 to 2.40 (package is still on some mirrors eg. http://ftp.nluug.nl/os/Linux/distr/arch … pkg.tar.xz).
EDIT: Or you can just use --console
