Canon Pixma MP230: Sane only works once on a freshly installed system

My Canon Pixma MP230 works perfectly with Sane. However, only the first time after installing Sane. Immediately after the installation of Sane on a fresh archlinux system:

scanimage -L

outputs

device ` v4l : / dev / video0 ' is a Noname BisonCam , NB Pro virtual device
device ` pixma : 04A9175F_315075 ' is a CANON Canon PIXMA MP230 multi -function peripheral

then works with scanning

scanimage --device pixma:04A9175F_315075 --format = tiff > test.tiff

or xsane Perfect!

But: After the restart, neither Sane still xsane works - there are no error messages , and the process stops at some point from ...

PS: The user is a member of the group 'scanner'
