Just about 20 minutes ago I began the install for World of Warcraft. I have the Battle.net launcher installed successfully. The WoW install has been running since then. I tried restarting it once, but it still displays a black screen. When I hover over the area where the "Play" button would be, I get a hover/pop-up message explaining how the game is ready to be played (but all files have not finished downloading) which tells me that the launcher itself is working fine.
Here is a screenshot of said issue.
UPDATE: I installed PlayOnLinux just out of curiosity to see if it made a difference and it has not. Attempting to install the same exe through PlayOnLinux (and yes I know it uses Wine) has made no difference.
I worked around this issue by directly executing the Wow-64.exe, but I'd still like to be able to use the launcher.

I just started having an issue with the Battle.net launcher as well: http://i.imgur.com/M7QpqZg.png
Although the screen isn't black, it is heavily distorted. I've tried directly launching the game executable (Hearthstone, in this case), but it just loads the distorted Battle.net launcher anyway.

May I please ask how you managed to install battle.net? What are your system specs? Whenever I attempt to install it the process kills itself and I see a few errors when I run it in terminal. I haven't been able to solve them as of yet and I would just like to know if your install process would work. I would also appreciate links to your sources so that I may have further insight. Thank you, sorry this wasn't an answer.
Oh, and w1ntermute, your problem is a result of bad Intel drivers. The same is happening on my Intel laptop. The problem persist with the drivers themselves.

I just installed Battle.net with the standard installer, using Wine. I've got an Intel Core i5-3427U CPU/graphics card at 1.8 Ghz.

If you're using PlayOnLinux try to enable GLSL in the settings. For me it worked and the launcher is now displaying something
(AMD Card tho)
