Hello there,
I have a problem with my SDCard not being displayed in 'lsblk'.
There's a similar issue here: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=164784 but this seemed to have boiled down to a hw-restriction of the used SDCard controller.
So here's my detailed description:
lsblk:
nothing
lsusb:
Bus 002 Device 019: ID 0bda:0159 Realtek Semiconductor Corp. RTS5159 Card Reader Controller
However, after waiting <1min the entry changes back to:
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
Additionally I did dmesg and diff_ed the both output files (plugged in: y/n). Result:
970a971,974
> [ 4992.026452] usb 2-2: new high-speed USB device number 10 using ehci-pci
> [ 4992.165826] ums-realtek 2-2:1.0: USB Mass Storage device detected
> [ 4992.176385] scsi13 : usb-storage 2-2:1.0
> [ 4993.182268] scsi 13:0:0:0: Direct-Access Generic- Multi-Card 1.00 PQ: 0 ANSI: 0 CCS
This lead me to do a 'lspci' because of the 'ehci-pci'.
But this doesn't change on what is plugged in, though I always see some of these "EHCI"-devices, like this:
00:1a.7 USB controller: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) USB2 EHCI Controller #2 (rev 03)
Yet these are by intel, not Realtek, which was my guess after 'lsusb'.
As it couldnt be getting worse, there are no Linux-Drivers on the vendors website, either for a "82801 intel" chip, nor for a "RTS 5159" Card Reader Controller.
I'ld be glad if someone of you could help me fixing this, I'm really on the end of my wits ![]()

anyone reading this: if you have the same problem, your sdcard is probably completely dead.
