xorg7 - error while loading shared libraries

did anyone else have this problem?  I've followed the wiki, and tried solutions that have worked for others but no luck still

xauth: error while loading shared libraries: libX11.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Couldnt get a file descriptor referring to the console

I had an older version installed libx11-9.9.1
