Hello everybody,
I wrote a patch for WMFS which adds a new option "focus=sloppy",
acting like "focus=enter", but it won't autoraise floating windows on mouseover, only activate them.
To raise a window, one needs to click the window title.
Im accustomed to this behaviour from other window managers (and hated to have popping underlying windows up in front).
The patch can be found here:
For the time being, the patch is just a quite dirty hack (I'm not really a programmer...), and I'd appreciate if someone might be interested in taking a look.
Furthermore the window is only raised from the titlebar and frame, not from within the window area itself (unlike in "focus=click", where one can click the whole window to bring it up), and I don't know what may be the cause of this.
Additionally WMFS has this strange bug to ignore my defined statusline on floating windows (even without the patch, it displays it, but clicking a floating windows titlebar brings it in "move-mode"), and I suspect this might be defined in the same functions I modified, and I just overlook something.
As I said, help is very much appreciated, maybe we can bring some new functionality into WMFS and iron out some bugs.
Best regards and thanks in advance,
dc
