GDM - can't swipe screen to enter credentials login prompt

Hi,

recently I installed Gnome to give it a try after using XFCE for a long time but I'm encountering a problem with GDM. After starting it with

gdm

as root, I can't see login prompt. All I get is beautiful wallpaper with time on center and bar on top of the screen (with battery and speaker icons). There is also some animation with narrows. But screen somehow doesn't react on pressing keys (but it's not frozen as mouse cursor works and I can click battery / speaker icons).

I don't know how to find the source of the problem as there is nothing under /var/log/gdm.

I can only say that lightdm works fine and I updated gnome to 3.14 today.

Any ideas?

@Update

ok, after watching youtube video (!) I know I should unlock screen first ;p but anyway I can't slide screen up.
ps. is it really impossible to disable slide step during unlocking?
