Downgrading to pre 3.10

I am on the latest kernel and want to downgrade to pre 3.10 because I have performance problems in Chrome/Firefox rendering them basically unusable. My guess is that the description here https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.c … e&id=73064 applies

I.e. I might have a kernel/hardware issue and the timing of kernel changes and when the problem first appeared seem to match

So I basically have 2 questions:

1. Downgrading that far into past, that is to 3.8 from 3.16 is probably a useless idea. Or it is not? Lots of things have been changed in the architecture, e.g. systemd and changed symlinks

2. Other ideas as to what problem I might have and possible suggestions (iommu=soft and Intel_iommu=off do not help)

Do you mean e.g. https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/linux-lts34/

This package does not currently work on Arch Linux. Systemd requires certain features which (last time I checked) the 3.4 kernel doesn't have. I am told ALARM folks made a patch.
