I don't know how it happened but when, eg, I plug in a USB drive or try to open a folder in a firefox extension (or other programs that want to open a folder...), it always wants to open with Audacious which is obnoxious. Browsing through in Nautilus works fine and normal, but I want to know if I can find out how to get rid of the association with Audacious.
I've tried deleting ~/.config and ~/.local to no help...

Create the file
~/.local/share/applications/mimeapps.list
and fill it with
[Default Applications]
inode/directory=nautilus.desktop;
Should work.

Thanks; I found that /usr/share/applications/mimeinfo.cache had the audacious association for directories for some reason. I removed that and it's working properly.

That fix was only temporary and I investigated the issue. audacious.desktop as provided by the upstream project includes inode/directory as a MimeType association. This is obnoxious but I'm not sure if Arch Linux maintainers would be willing to change this... it's easy enough to fix by editing the file, but it'll not be fun to do that every time the package updates.
Upstream already had a report about it, but it was rejected and the associations stays.

Since I'm also having this issue since the 3.14 upgrade, I followed the suggestion made in the Arch bug tracker and filed a report for Nautilus in the GNOME bugzilla. Hope this leads to a definitive fix.
