Gnome 3.14 upgrade: gdm keyboard language issue

So I just upgraded gnome from version 3.12 to 3.14 and for some reason gdm's keyboard language (and by that I mean the keyboard language to insert password at login screen) has reverted to English (used to be in Italian). So now when I type in my password I have to remember where English special characters are located and it's a pain. After logging in keyboard is once again in Italian.
Everything seems correct in my settings though (see screenshot at: https://www.dropbox.com/s/fublqitokeid4 … .png?dl=0).
If I press Ctrl+Alt+F4 and login from console, I can correctly login with my password so I assume keyboard is in Italian.
What went wrong? How can I fix this?
Thanks, cheers.

Well i don't know, i'm about to upgrade but you can always use the command loadkeys to change layout.

oops did not read the ops post before posting. You can always look at the top right to see which layout is there (although i have no idea how to change it).

Re: Gnome 3.14 upgrade: gdm keyboard language issue

Same here... For some weird reason, the update has reset my localectl x11 settings.

So, i reconfigure all that stuff with localectl and all is fine, now

Re: Gnome 3.14 upgrade: gdm keyboard language issue

I had the same issue and I resolved it in the Gnome Control Center -> Keyboard -> Input Sources. There you add (+ button) the good language for your keyboard. The configurations Languages and Format should be already OK. Normaly, that should fix your problem.

Re: Gnome 3.14 upgrade: gdm keyboard language issue

LOL, I notice that on my laptop there appears a button under All Settings -> Region & Language -> Login Screen (top right). But on my desktop it doesn't appear. gdm isn't installed on either system...
Seems they managed to put it in a different place for every installation wink.

This is so poor, I just started to give gnome-shell a try, but by this update I don't see any improvement, just more confusing things that don't really work. (Not to mention icon size...)

Sorry, but I'm just terribly disappointed...

Re: Gnome 3.14 upgrade: gdm keyboard language issue

For the time being, I resolved by using lightdm instead of gdm at login, which caused lock screen function to disappear; I will try localectl as suggested by jaco.
Thanks everyone for pitching in.
