Unmounting /oldroot/dev fails on reboot if autologin into X is enabled

As soon as autologin into an Xorg session is enabled according to these manuals:

https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/au … al_console
and
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Start_X_at_Login

clean rebooting does not work anymore. The shutdown process ends with

Unmounting /oldroot
Could not unmount /oldroot: Device or resource busy
Unmounting /oldroot/dev
Could not unmount /oldroot/devt: Device or resource busy

What can I do to avoid this problem and allow a proper shutdown? It seems to be possible that this problem is caused by a race condition since it seems to work occasionally.
