Problem with Nvidia >=334.21 drivers. Can I use 331.xx version?

Hi guys, with >=334.21 Nvidia drivers I have input lag and flickering/drawing errors on any DE that uses 3d acceleration (Unity, Gnome...). I tried installing legacy 304 drivers and everything was fine but as I like to play video games this solution is not good for me because 304 drivers perform much worse than 331+ versions. Is there any way I can install 331 driver that will not update with the rest of my system?

Is this possible? If not, what is the best/easiest solution for my problem?

I would prefere to use Gnome DE,  3.17 kernel (because of XBONE controller) and 331.89 nvidia driver (latest that don't cause me problems). One of the solutions could be using non 3d accelerated DE because games work fine with latest nvidia drivers.

Other people have this nvidia problem too: https://devtalk.nvidia.com/default/topi … gtx-580/1/
My GPU is 560 ti - 1GB

Edit:
Now I'm using MATE with up to date Nvida drivers and I don't have these issues anymore. When Mutter or Nvidia developers solve these issues I'll switch back to Gnome.
