Changing trigger events for onboard on-screen keyboard

I recently bought a convertible ultrabook with both a touchscreen and keyboard/mouse.  I'm using onboard as the onscreen keyboard while operating as a tablet.  Onboard triggers whenever I select an input, regardless of the input device used to select it.  I'd prefer that onboard only trigger when I use the touchscreen to select the input as otherwise, it gets in the way of normal laptop-style use.
