Keeping running kernel's modules around
Hello all,
my problem is the following: I often use pacman -Syu to update my system including the linux package containing the kernel. At this time there are often quite a lot of kernel modules which are not loaded into the currently running kernel. After the update the modules can't be loaded anymore because they have been replaced by the new kernel's modules. I find this quite annoying because once I have performed the update I have to restart the system. This behaviour would be acceptable for Windows XP but for linux it is quite annoying. I was just wondering whether it might be possible to modify the .install script to account for this problem and keep the required modules.
